Very quick and totally painless

You know, I wanted to use those idiots at newcall but they coouldn't even sort out a simple fault that stopped me getting any internet! I have been with them a month and still nothing! I should've gone with talk talk in the first place, the order process is so much easier than newcall and totally painless! I'm now gonna set up an order for my friend.

Loud background noise!

The person that I spoke to was obviously in a busy office with very little sound damping. Whilst her English was good it was not always easy to grasp the details, which was important when giving/receiving account details.
Other than that, fine.

Refunded my Monthly DD Payment Then Slammed with £138 Early Termination Fee

Back in February I moved my phone & broadband over to another provider. Three weeks ago I noticed that my broadband was still active with TalkTalk and contacted them with regards to this. Spoke to a woman in their customer services dept and she confirmed that hey had received notification from my new provider on the 4th March and she would refund my monthly direct debit payment that they had taken out and would confirm everything in a letter. End of I thought... unfortunately not!!.. I have today spent the last hour on the phone to TalkTalk business customer services with regards to a debt of £138.00 apparently an early termination fee that they have now decided to tell me about and is now in the hands of a debt collector. How can they possible issue a refund and then say you are now in debt to the sum of £138.00 that I was not informed off when I spoke to customer services early March. Overall the service they provided me with over the last 18 months has been poor...constant broadband downtime which they failed to rectify and they admitted that there were issues on the line. Whenever I have had issues they have failed to correct it, even giving the BT engineer wrong address details when I had broadtime downtime for over a week. Very, Very poor provider and very poor communication from customer service. DO NOT CHANGE YOUR PROVIDER TO TALKTALK...ABSOLUTE RUBBISH!!!!

The most dreadfull phone help and confusing sales rep ever!!

I am NOT impressed with this experiance of sales. I found it extreemly difficult to understand the woman and the information was at best confusing and contradictory. NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER!!!!!!!!!!

Didnt turn up

took a day off work to meet my appointment for the engineers...

they failed to turn up on appointment day and let me know last minute, so write to them on chat...they refuse to speak to me about when they can install or cancel my contract. premium rate number to ring on

not acceptable at all

Helpful service

The person I spoke to was friendly and helpful. I wasn't particularly happy about having to give my bank details over the phone because I thought aol didn't ask for these details. However, the manager explained to me why they needed them. I did give the details in the end as I had contacted them by the phone no on the aol website.

simpley satisfied!

Decided to have broadband installed,looked at a few providers then had a look at talk talk. Was impressed with the price and the simplicity of applying online. I am more than pleased i chose them and would recommend theyre services to friends and family.

No welcome email or letter!!!!!!!

As discussed when agreeing to my account, this phone line is for a shop that I will not have keys/access too for several weeks, which I informed the advisor. At no point did the advisor point out that the welcome letter would go to the shop address. I'm unable to register my account as I do not have an account number on any emails received from you. The registration page does not recognise my email or last 4 digits!!! I'm told by your help line the email has this information on, I have looked again and still cannot see any email that states my account or new number for the shop!!!!!! Very frustrating. I'm also told that other than waiting until the 25th of April, I cannot re-direct the delivery of the modem. Thought the initial call went to smoothly, after care really poor.

GOOD WHILE IT'S WORKING

Undoubtedly, TalkTalk offers good value for money in terms of the 'phone, broadband & TV packages which it supplies. However, it's customer service is provided by overseas call centres and it's impossible to speak to anyone with enough authority to set the rules aside when the situation demands (and certainly not anyone UK based!) .

We signed up for the YouView service as soon as it was announced and have been happy with it overall. But, at the end of March, the On Demand facility stopped working. I called the support number and spent over an hour on the 'phone while a technician talked me through checking various bits of the equipment; which involved, among other things, unplugging one of the power line adaptors - the one connected to the modem - and then replacing it afterwards. When replacing the adaptor, I asked the technician specifically whether it mattered which port I used for the network cable, and was told clearly that it didn't.

When he had exhausted all possibilities without resolving the problem, he said he would arrange a home visit from a UK technician. I was not impressed to be told that the earliest it could be arranged was three days away but, eventually, had to accept that TalkTalk simply doesn't employ enough technicians to offer a better service. Since the offered appointment was quite impossible for us, it was actually six days later that the technician came.

The technician was very good and the problem was fixed quickly. However, he discovered that the network cable to the modem was, in fact, connected to a wrong port. Clearly, that was down to me, but only because I had not been instructed correctly by the technician on the 'phone in Indonesia; furthermore, it could not have been the cause of the original fault, as the On Demand function had worked correctly for almost 18 months, since the initial installation.

On checking my April bill, I was shocked to see a £50 charge for the technician's visit. Immediately, I called the support line and explained to the call centre operator exactly why I believed that the visit ought not to be chargeable. Eventually, he transferred me to his manager (a particularly "jobsworth" sounding individual) who refused to accept my arguments and insisted that no-one in TalkTalk would agree to cancel the charge.

I have now written to TalkTalk at their Southampton HQ and am awaiting their response with interest.

As long as everything is working OK, TalkTalk's packages are good value for money - but heaven help the customer when anything goes wrong!

Alex who I spoke to was very genuine and friendly. He did not pressure me into buying or nagged me. He let me think about what I wanted and added a few discounts just to ensure I made the right choice.

The on-line instructions on the TalkTalk web-site were clear and easy to use. Arranging appointments for telephone and tv engineers were also easy.

Avoid, may be cheap but cheap is never always good....

What can I say... Cheapest because they rob you at every possible opportunity.
I wont even start about the internet service, cant be bothered to write two essays. So ill talk about their mobile service.

Firstly to be fair to them, the order was nice, easy and quick. Products were as described and came in a couple days with no issues. Easy to activate as well. Now that's all the good i have to say.

Its impossible to review your usage on talktalk and that's my biggest issue with talktalk. No live usage update like you get with other providers. Delays of up to 2 weeks. Ran over my data usage by 1.5gb, no text to say that i had and no offer of more data instantly like other providers provide via text. Racked up a 200 quid bill, now this is robbery... considering its not to hard to use that much data nowadays and with my old provider a instant text was send asking if I wanted to pay 10 quid for a extra 1GB. So i'm paying 185 more than my old provider and more initially usage limits and i was paying 35.

Now I'm not a well off man, so I instantly thought payment plan. Split the bill by the remaining months left on my contract and add them to my bill. Oh and never use my internet again... Rang them, first call got hung up upon, second took 1 hour of being past around before being hung up upon. Tried a week later another 30 mins to tell me someone will call me back to arrange a payment plan. 2 weeks rang up again and they said they don't offer plans for mobile customers!? Forgive me if i'm wrong but don't they legally have to offer this to avoid people from racking up more debt?! So I'm implementing this payment plan myself, all in all not having use of their service...

So the lesson I've learnt, pay a bit more and go with the usual providers. Costs more but the customer service is generally better and they offer better solutions to everything. My past providers being Vodafone and Orange btw.
