Really enjoy travelling with this company. We make regular trips to France and some staff remember us now and stop for a chat. Food is always good and we have noticed that those passengers who are willing to acknowledge the nationality of the crew by speaking French will often find that they get even better service.
We've been travelling with Myferrylink since its beginnings back in 2012 and we have never had any complaints.
The crew is very friendly and all billingual (which cannot be said of the other operators). Payments on board are very easy with the choice between Euro of Pound Sterling. There is a wide selection of excellent products in the shop on board (I would definitely recommend the wines). The food and drinks offered on board are very good and the ships are always impeccably clean.
The online booking system is easy to follow. The Ferry boarding was straight forward and the service is first class. The meal on board was very enjoyable giving us the first taste of French cuisine before we arrived in France.
We love the boats, the Rodin and the Berlioz. These were our two favourite ferries on the Dover-Calais crossing when they were operated by SeaFrance. For comfort, ease of access for loading and unloading, we rate them as the two most pleasurable ships. They also seem to ride well when the sea is churning! We find the crew friendly and helpful. It may be something of a surprise in today's world, but they seem to enjoy their jobs. That must mean something positive! Our only criticism recently was that not all facilities were available, but as we were travelling at unsociable hours in winter, that was no big surprise. We've travelled with all the various operators over the past 30 years - some good, some pretty poor. We've found MyFerryLink to offer the best all-round experience and recommend them highly
Never travelled with my ferry link, but the ships were beautifully clean, lovely staff and we loved the decor. We just kept on saying how tastefully done they were. Will definitely use again. Great value for money when booking online too. Cheaper than your rivalsThank you.
Some years ago,all ferry companies operated like this one-sadly now this is not the case, but one still does! From the moment of booking in to the moment you drive off at your destination, the service is faultless, the staff are polite, informed and friendly and the ferries always spotlessly clean, and the food in the restaurants is always superb-much better than many land based restaurants I have visited. Add to all this the level of fares and it is easy to see why,as a frequent and regular channel crosser,I will stick with MyFerryLink as my service provider-highly recommended!!!!!
the waiting time was to long they never try to put you on an earlier boat we travel along way to get to the ferry port and always set off early because of the british traffic to make sure we get there ontime. some of the areas on the boat where not very clean and the food we had was expencive and cold by time we came to eat it. but practice makes perfect and if you keep your prices down you will get my custome again as i travel to France 6 times a year always at the school holidays so i always look for the best deal
As a regular user, I find no fault with the on board experience and will always travel with MyFerryLink in preference to alternative carriers.
My one gripe is with the website which will take a booking at the standard price when offers are available. This often results in you paying twice what you need to. I often make short duration trips and have to remember to check for offers before I book. This extends the time required to make a booking. It should not be a problem to programme the web site to take offers into account and adjust the price automatically. Sadly they are happy to take advantage of the ill-informed and careless traveller.
Decided to go on a 'booze cruise' day trip as we were staying near Dover. Excellent value fare. We have used this line several times and everything is always very good. Facilities are clean, although the food can be a bit expensive, but no more than a motorway service station. Would recommend
Our Friday early evening trip from Dover to Calais was a very eerie experience. The ship was not very full, it was cold, and there weren't many facilities available. It felt very eerie. The return to Dover on the Sunday afternoon was a slightly better experience. On the plus side, the crossing was a very reasonable price.
We have always used the Eurotunnel to go to France in the past but a friend told us that it is a lot easier and more fun by ferry although slightly longer. Given that the ferry fare was 70% off the tunnel cost for a 30 minute overall time difference we gave it a punt. We were a bit nervous finding our way to the Dover terminal but it was well signposted and easy to follow, instant check-in and then a wait in a really well set out terminal with more space than the Folkestone equivalent. On board it was very comfortable, the bars and restaurants had a good range and the shop was better value than we had expected and was also well stocked. Coming back was a bit disappointing as the French side has only vending machines but you get loaded straight on unlike the interminable queues to be "processed" by UK Immigration. And a lovely sunset to watch as you sip a drink in the lounge. Don't be fooled by journey time difference - it is the checking in and out time that narrows the gap and the cost gap that has decided us to do the ferry in future - always.
Overall excellent service with catering and bar staff very helpful and supportive. Appreciated very much informal classical music concert organised (October 2013?). Also appreciate "Carnet 6+" for frequent travellers and no advance booking possibility. Bonne chance.
