I tried to download a malware protection program that had great reviews (imagine that ) and got hijacked to a completely different program that had horrible reviews,,,,,unbelievable....was extreemely confusing.
Then Cnets web site started bogging down and timing out.....WTH
This site used to be great for sourcing downloads for software, no more. Now many of their downloads come bundled with unwanted malware, including irritating spyware toolbars that are not always easy to get rid of. Read other's reports about cnet, I'm not the only one- looks like they've sold out after getting everyone's trust. Do yourself a favor and download directly from the manufacturer's website, NOT from cnet.
Whenever I'm looking for software to download, unless I know the publisher's website address, Cnet is always the first place I look and most of the time the program is listed there. The reviews are helpful and it's good to know the programs are checked to be virus-free. However, I hate the sneaky advertising of other products - they try to disguise it as part of the info on the software I'm interested in and it's sometimes hard not to click on the links they sneak in. If it weren't for that, I'd give the site 5 stars.
Their downloads are now bundled with spyware and viruses. I downloaded a program yesterday, was very careful to un-tick the boxes offering me extra toolbars and search functions and I ended up with a browser hi-jacker anyway! Couldn't get rid of the thing for anything so have ended up having to reset my computer back to its factory settings and re-install everything. Extremely angry.
I joined Cnet many years ago. I have never been disappointed. I do not always agree with their findings, but thats OK because they invite criticisms., another reason for towards their excellence.
They always help! Nothing is too much trouble irrespective of how little one knows.
I award them the numero 1 spot.
In what they do They are 'SIMPLY THE BEST"
On this website you can download many programs for a free trial. Very useful, especially when you need to buy something and you don't know how it works.
I love the possibility to try something out before I buy. Cnet allows me that.

But Cnet, you could be better. Don't rest on your laurels. You need to make good, informed reviews of products. I don't want to hear your "opinions".
I often download programs from this website. Most of them are trial versions, but there are also free ones.
If you need any old program version or new this is the place to go.
Whatever product is about to release or released can be know if we visit Cnet. They give is reliable information which makes to learn about the product and its features
Need to research a new gadget, TV, applicance, software?
This site provides it all.
Need trialware or freeware?
Get it here as well.
This is a great place to start your tech research or to get an idea on what is new.
I use CNET to read reviews on every technology item I buy. They help me decide.
i am not an exactly tech savvy person, but there is a time that i need to buy a new phone/laptop. then i need to know whether the items are good or not and cnet is the place where i will look for the review. i know there are tons of reviews website out there, but i find that cnet's reviews are relatively accurate and thorough. it is also a great website when i am looking for softwares, you can see the reviews for the software and for me, i dont feel as unsecure as googling the software on google and go to the developer's website directly. you wont absolutely know whether that website is legit or the download file is a virus. definitely cnet is a great website
Honest, independent and friendly and most importantly critical reviews, advice and help. Amazing!
This site will give you plenty of information about software and gadgets etc. A great resorce
Great site to download from unless you are using a cnet exclusive product which is always hard to get registered. Have registered some products online 10 times and when I access the software still receive message the product is unregistered.
I used to use CNet all the time. Not anymore, because i have to give them details, email etc, just to download software that used to be readily available.
Now i never go on CNet, I'm not signing up, when i don't have to anywhere else to download these files.
Shame.
Use a lot, good selection never a problem with any of the downloads, good reviews of downloads available. Helpful, and enormously useful
I will always have a look at cnet before buying any tech or software. Their reviews are always conscientious and unbiased, plus I like the facility for users to add their reviews as well. Far better than buying all those What...? magazines to find out the best item of tech to buy.
A must for any Favourites when surfing the net.
Reviews on cnet can be taken with a grain of salt or lots of cash if it's your product being reviewed.
I use this site to download programs for friend's PC's such as CCleaner as it is a very trustworthy source and all programs are vetted.
This site is great, I can get information about products, or reviews on items, and also a great place for downloads..And now they even let you know when there is a new release for an item you down loaded..
Its one of most popular sites, for its tech news, reviews and downloads. Very helpful to the ones looking for reliable and quality products. Never lets people down.
best tech site in the world always get my news from there as you know its always going to be the right news and not some little fake story
